But cropping (not growing?) fibers or extracting petrol to make jeans and other garments is a prehistoric and destructive technology. Fiber industry consumes 4% of our freshwater and wastes 99% of recyclable worn garments. Every second the equivalent of a garbage truck of recyclable clothes is landfilled or burned. If nothing changes, by 2050 the fashion, including jeans industry, will use up a quarter of the world’s carbon budget. So we decided to do something about it: in 2019 we will bring alive the 1st jeans made exclusively from worn garments, so that we never have to sacrifice any blue water for jeans. That way, we can all wear Pagurojeans and save our best friend in this Universe, Earth.
